Thursday Evening
Hello Darling!
How are you? I received your card today + am glad you arrived safely. We didn't get any of that snow you ran into. It's been so warm that it really seems like Spring.
Tuesday I went to the knitting club at Connie's. You know what? Connie was at "The Ideal Spot" with Jimmy Devine + Lucille + another fellow the night we were there. They had the table nearest the door. Wasn't it funny that we didn't see each other? Connie quit her job Tuesday. It seems there are "Bookies" that hang out in the restaurant + she doesn't want to get linked with them + get into trouble. She accepted a $5 tip for waiting on the tables + refused the second one. She's going to try + get a defense job. The night of the club meeting her mother was very sick. She had a cold all week + got up + caught a chill. While we were there they called a doctor + he said that it was good it was caught in time as it was turning to pneumonia. That means she'll have to stay home instead of looking for work!
Pauline didn't show up at the club meeting + phoned to tell us but we don't know what the cause of it was.
Boy, am I resting up this week! Tomorrow night I intend to go to your house.
How does it seem being back into the swing of things again?
Aunt Dorothy came yesterday (Wednesday) + we went to church in the evening.
Aunt Nana received a card from Margaret saying she has now a 1 room + kitchenette + now can experiment her cooking on Ray. That's about all she said on the card.
How's your cold darling? Take care of yourself. Tell me all about your trip + what's happened since you left camp.
Enclosed is a clipping which ought to be of interest to you.
I bought a lapel pin for Maria the other day (did I tell you before?) I'm making pot holder for Mrs. Hubbard now.
Darling be a good boy + remember I love with all my heart. Write soon, dear.
Love, Grace
P.S. I sent away the pictures to be developed.
