Dear George,
We got your card and the crate you sent Gene. Hope you arrived in good shape. I have had a bit of a sore throat. Went to Doc. Wood's last Tues and he gave me the Old Reliable Throat Medication. It's pretty much cleared up now.
We took a ride to the Mastic Beach today. We left about 12 o' clock, had dinner at Patchogue and got to Mastic about 3 o clock.
We have had two regular Spring days Sat. + today.
Mastic is the same as ever at this time of year. We saw about 6 cars parked at Shunte's. Business is beginning to pickup.
I am enclosing your income tax blanks, as I understand it you mustfile whether you have to pay or not. That is if your income is over $750.00
I mean as I can figure it, you did not earn $750.00. However figure it out as close as you can and if you do nothave to pay anything mail directly to Collection of Internal Revenue. 271 Washington St, Brooklyn N.Y. before the 15th of March.
Should you have to pay any thing figure out what and mail to me in time for me to mail same to Revenue Office. I'll send them a money order for anything due. I am also sending you a blank write the deduction you made on your 1940 blanks. That is $26.00 for contribution and $15.00 for Misc. taxes. Thought you would need that information.
Grace was by the house Sat. afternoon. Uncle Bill also.
I got my graduation papers from the Fire Auxiliary Monday. Are you laughing? Also got an identification card and an arm band.
I guess thats about all to-night.
Love Dad
