Hello Honey!
How are you? I can hardly wait until I get your next letter.
Last night Mother and Eleanor went to see the Phillip Morris broadcast, and then went to "The Battle of The Sexes" and then they were invited to stay for the "Frank Fay Show". I got home way before them.
Our meeting was at Jeannie's but held down stairs at her sister's. Her husband was sick in bed with the Grippe. I said that she should have let us know and we would have postponed our meeting. Pauline wasn't there because she had to take a trip to Jersey. It seems Joe's mother has a blood clot on the brain and his father will not consent to an operation. The children and the closest relatives are signing a petition giving them consent to it and it will over rule the father's word, so that's what Pauline was going to get.
I just got home form church. I came home very tired and could have done with some sleep, but church comes first then sleep, so here I am writing with one eye open and the other closed.
Tomorrow we're stepping out to a show (it's Dad's birthday).
Tell me all about the "Guest House" is it for men and women too? Can you get meals there or have to go out for them? I think probably we'll be going down by car from the way things stand now. By that way we can see more. I can't wait until I see you again. Did you hear the good news today? The Allies sank 23 Japanese ships isn't that wonderful? It won't be long now before all this horrible nightmare will be ended.
Eleanor tells me she wore to you today, but she won't say what she wrote. Should I be jealous?
Darling, I love you an awful heap and don't forget it.
Be good now dear, and until my next letter when I'll have more to tell you, I think I better close before I fall asleep.
Love,
Grace
PS. Tell Sal I was asking for him and I hope he is feeling better.
