Dear George

So you are the boss "Keeper of the Tools" now. i guess you had better get that checking system to work in sort order. It's not so bad to lose a small cheap tool but what happens if you should be short on a big expensive one.

How come you have to go out on problems again after all this time. I thought you were over that.

March 30th, 1942 - A Letter From Grace Bauer & Mary Kelly

March 30th, 1942

EDITORS NOTE: This mailing to George Lutz is unique because it contained multiple letters. One from Mary Kelly, who I believe is the fiancé of one of George's fellow soldiers at Camp Wheeler. In addition, a newspaper clipping is included.

Hello Honey!
I received your letter with the snaps enclosed and I'll sow them to family when I go up the end of the week. I sent Gene a birthday card but won't be able to get up there on Tuesday as I have a club meeting at my house.
Honey I heard that little message at 11:30 on my birthday. I was so busy working that I almost forgot what time it was until my ears started to "ring". I quickly looked up at the clock and sure enough it was 11:30.

Hello Honey!
Boy, was I tickled to death when I received your present for me! I didn't think you would remember me remarking how lovely they were. In fact, I scarcely remembered myself. I just love the inscription on it. Mary has an inscription like that on her engagement and wedding bad and I think it's a grand idea. That letter you enclosed was so beautiful that is almost made me cry, but I knew you wouldn't want me to so I didn't. Thanks again for everything, and when I come down to see you in May, you'll be able to see how it looks on my ankle.

Dear George
Congratulations "Corporal.". So you did get it. Well that is fine and we are tickled to hear about it.
You will have to keep your eye open so as to keep track of the fools (EDIT: AM I RIGHT ON THIS PART?),
Am glad to show that you still love your apartment.
